My Students

The students at my school are eager to learn and especially enjoy learning through books. As a school, we strive to instill a lifelong love of reading.

As a charter school in a lower income area with more than 40 percent of our students receiving free or reduced price lunches, my students do more with less.

Yet, their passion to succeed can be seen in the fact that we test as one of the top schools in the state on standardized tests.

My Project

Our classroom library is small and needs help! The students in my class are dying to have some new books to read in our classroom library. My students are avid readers and want to have more options available to them inside of the classroom.

I want to introduce my students to important works of literature that they will enjoy reading!

A lot of books in my current library are too young for my 5th graders, and they are not interested in reading them. My students want engaging titles that are on their correct reading level. I hope to extend my classroom library to help motivate reading in my classroom.
