Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Hello! My students and I desperately need your help. My classroom computer is ancient and needs replacing. It is a Pentium 2 running Windows 95. I find it is not compatible with the majority of the new software I would like to use in my class. Also, I can use very few accessories with it as well because of compatibility issues. It is almost to the point of being completely useless for my purposes. I have to restart my computer after any session on the Internet because it "locks" up. Researching for materials is impossible. This is beyond frustrating. It will not support PowerPoint and I must check a computer out from the library for presentations. If we ever get a new computer, I propose to have the present computer available to students for word processing purposes. I can't begin to explain how this would help my classroom. I want to integrate technology into my classroom, but with my present computer that is impossible. This new computer would benefit 63 students this semester alone and many students in my future classes. It would make me a more productive teacher and therefore better teacher for my students. I humbly ask for your help in obtaining this resource for my students. Thank You!!
