My Students

Support the careers of future surgeons, engineers, mathematicians, and scientists! My students are fascinated with the world around them.

One of the most wonderful parts of our community is the wide diversity of learners our school serves.

Our student population is comprised of a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and we have a great diversity in learning styles and academic readiness. The students at my school are energetic, outgoing, and bring a joyful attitude to the learning environment. Every day, I learn something new from them and it truly is a pleasure working with these adolescents. Many of the students live in poverty and do not have access to learning materials at home.

My Project

The TI-84 is the calculator of choice for math and science classes in high school and college. Seventh grade begins the first year that students learn how to use the functions on these calculators, and build upon their foundations of early math. These calculators will be used to help students identify solutions of more complex math problems and to check their completed work.

This DonorsChoose.org project includes a teacher set of ten TI-84 calculators that will be used in the seventh grade classroom setting.

Students will have access to these calculators during the second half of the school year, for calculations in geometry, algebra, as well as statistics.
