This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Literacy skills are crucial for academic and personal success. Once a student can read successfully, he/she has opened the door to all learning possibilities!

The students in my classroom are eager and dedicated.

They all strive to be successful, focused, and engaged in learning everyday. My students attend a Title I school in northern California. I know that my students do not have many resources at home, so it is important for me to provide a variety of rich resources for them at school.

My Project

The resources will help build independent reading stamina and provide my students with quality texts that are at their level. The books will help my readers during our readers workshop and provide them access to texts that are leveled when they read independently both at home and at school.

My project is important because these resources will change the face of reading in my classroom.

All of my students want to become better readers, and in order to do so they need to have access to books that are interesting and at their level. This project will help my students grow dramatically in reading this year!
