Help Build our Classroom Library - Part 2
The cost of several books, including Henry and Mudge in the Sparkle Days and Bailey Goes Camping (from Barnes and Noble) is $167, including shipping and <a target="new" href="http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm" onclick="g_openWindow('http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.
I am a second grade teacher at an elementary school located in downtown Raleigh, NC. This is my second year teaching at this school, as well as my second year teaching second grade.
Our classroom library is limited. Most of the children in my class have read almost every book that I have in the library. Also, many of the books I have from my childhood and are falling apart and need to be repaired on a regular basis, especially my lower level books for my struggling readers. My students love to read, and I would hate to see them lose their enthusiasm for reading due to a lack of books.
I would like to have lower level books in my classroom for my struggling readers to read in their free time. I am hoping that by getting books that are current, the children will be more excited about reading and as a result feel successful and be enthusiastic about reading.
