My students are an extremely diverse group of students in all aspects! I am an English as a new language teacher, and I push into 5 different classes on grades 3, 4, and 5 every day, to support our English learners in literacy and language development. I also pull a group of 15 entering and emerging (the two lowest levels of English proficiency) English language learners for small group language instruction. I have many students who do not speak any English, and who are new to the country. There are 80 English language learners in my school who are all amazing in their own, unique ways, and who all have the potential to be future leaders!
This printer would make a difference in my students learning because I would be able to print colored photographs, flash cards, anchor charts, general images, and various materials for my English learners to experience their learning in color. Black and white printers are not appealing nor engaging for any person, let alone students in Kindergarten through fifth grade! If my students have good-quality, colored materials to help them learn, they will take pride in their work and take ownership of their instructional materials! Having a color printer will also allow my students’ school lives to improve because the decor around the classroom will be more colorful and vivid, just like their learning will be, with your help!
