My Students
My students are working very hard to bring our school production of Disney's Mulan Junior to life. The performers are rehearsing their lines, songs and choreography, while the crew has worked on creating props and scenery and is learning how to run the show backstage.
My students are hardworking and dedicated. The third, fourth and fifth graders who are working on our production of Disney's Mulan Junior are very diverse, both in terms of culture and learning styles, and this helps them bring a special approach, curiosity and style to their performances and artwork. I am truly impressed with their ingenuity, motivation and commitment to this project.
My Project
With these period character specific costumes and props, students in the cast will be able to fully immerse themselves in their roles in Disney's Mulan Junior. The students will use the kimono-style robes paired with skirts to create the traditional hanfu dresses worn at the historical time period in which Mulan takes place, which will enable the cast to more fully realize their characters and imagine themselves in this time period. The canvas, metal hooks and metal frame will allow our artists to create the scenery to transform the stage into the Chinese countryside. The costumes and art materials will allow the cast and set designers to take their performances and set-production to a whole new level.
Our young actors and set designers have been hard at work creating their characters and constructing scenery to truly bring the exciting world of Mulan to life. With these costumes, props, and art materials, students will be able to take the final steps in creating this enchanting, imaginary world.
