Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you know what it feels like to write a story on the computer, and not be able to print it? How frustrating! The kids would love a printer to copy their stories. Students learn from laptop images being projected, but behavior, thus learning, would improve if I could control the images remotely.
My students are sixth graders in a large urban public school district in Illinois.
They are primarily Hispanic, and many are second language learners. They vary in ability and interests, but all are enthusiastic about learning, and are particularly enthusiastic about technology.
My Project
Writing workshop is my kids' favorite time of the school day, yet they're so disappointed when they can't print a copy of their work for display. A printer is the thing they need to make their writing experience even better. They would also benefit from the Apple TV so that I can project images and information remotely from my computer.
I have found that the use of technology in my classroom enhances my students' learning. However, having to use a cable to connect my laptop to the projector limits my ability to monitor my students during these learning experiences. Behavior will improve, and even greater learning will be the result.
Please help our sixth grade class by providing them with a printer so that they can get a hard copy of their work!
Also, think how wonderful it would be if I could monitor my students when I'm using my laptop by having the Apple TV.
