Help me give my students the chance to use scientific equipment to learn real world concepts including PocketLabs Sensors that will give student's the ability to record live data during a variety laboratories.
Our students enjoy discovering and strengthening their innate inner scientists through experiences in their science classrooms. Students at our school have a strong desire to learn and engage their senses to better understand the world around them. Students especially enjoy designing experiences that highlight the five human senses allowing differing senses to learn. Middle schoolers at our school appreciate teaching which is truly impactful through the use of hands-on materials. Through the use of technology, students feel that they learn skills that will help them strengthen their knowledge.
My Project
Using digital sensors will allow students to engage in real world concepts such as developing a heating curve for water to better understand phase changes. Other students will gain a deeper understanding of outside conditions and how the conditions impact our environment in the Florida Keys.
Through the use of this technology in the classroom, I feel that visual learners will be able to view content using innovative lessons, kinesthetic learners are able to “touch” and manipulate concepts, and auditory learners will be able to access information in unique ways.
My primary teaching goal is to have students investigate their role and impact in a world of science through enhanced real world applications of that science in their everyday lives.
