This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am honored to be the foundation,as a pre kindergarten teacher at a public Title I school in Washington, DC in which 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students can be described as funny,smart,kind and full of energy. They not only have the determination to learn but the willingness to try new things. My students are capable learners, and they learn best through teacher modeling, interactive lessons and play.
My students enjoy coming to school each and every day full of energy knowing that they are going to have fun learning through play with their peers.
My students are making gains in academics as well as in socio-emotional development.
My students are self-confident and enjoy being around their peers. They know and understand that they are valued and are important and deserve a high quality education.
My Project
Each year we welcome a new class of eager and bright students that we are excited to get to know. We work hard to make sure that we provide engaging learning opportunities and events to create a strong academic as well as a social emotional healthy classroom family. Our classroom family has been negatively effected by the recent Coronavirus outbreak in our country.
Our young learners lack necessary technology that help them access engaging lessons and the ability to interact with their peers through a morning meeting and small group instruction with their teachers through Microsoft Teams.
While we strive to offer our students the best education possible, we need the technology to help our students to maintain and/or make academic and social emotional gains. Our young learners are trying to grasp why they can not see their friends and teachers these tablets will bring stability, consistency and foster a love of friendship and learning into our young learners lives. Please help our students get and stay connected to their classroom family through technology .
