My students need a rhyming words activity carpet, essential math skills pocket charts, math centers, a photo library, and pocket chart tools for learning!
I spend every day with a classroom full of First Grade students with wide eyes taking in everything around them. We are in a low income neighborhood where a lot of the families don't speak English, but they come to school with an open heart and a brain sponge ready to soak up anything and everything.
The problem? I watch their eyes dart around the room and as I follow them I see white walls. Where there should be bright colorful learning posters and strategies, we are lacking. On the ground our gray carpet provides little support for learning.
We are asking for a learning carpet to decorate our floor and math charts to fill our bland walls. Vocabulary learning photos will help us strengthen our English skills and fun pointers and timers will make everything even more fun! Although language is important, we are also looking for two math centers to help us strengthen our addition and subtraction skills.
Our classroom is a haven for learning now, but with the added skill charts, carpet, and centers my students will be able to glance around the room and soak up information all day long. We know that no second at school can be wasted, we must grow our brains! Please help us reach our goal!
