Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

70% of our kids don't get enough physical activity in the school day. With block schedules, P.E. classes are 2-3 times a week instead of everyday. 90 minute classes force students to sit long periods of time. With a Wii Fitness Board, students can exercise & learn.

A Channel 4 News Report talked about the effectiveness of exercise games like Nintendo Wii and obesity among children.

With your help, I can create a class where kids can learn in non-traditional ways, like using virtual exercise or active game systems. Games like Big Brain Academy, Brain Age, and Wii Storyboard, help promote exercise and social interactions. Unlike regular sports activities, no child will feel left out because of a disability. Students will want to study harder and try harder to be the kid on the Wii Fitness Board!

My Project

You will help 200 students learn to love X-Period. Fantastic donors like you donated our school the Wii Console & Wii Games like Big Brain Academy. The donation of a Wii fitness Board allows students to enjoy exercise activities like Hula Hoop, skateboard, snowboard, dancing, boxing, yoga, aerobics & other exercise-oriented activities. With a Wii Fitness Board, students will get many opportunities to develop teamwork skills with each other. Students will teach each other how to operate the Wii games and equipment. Reading, Math and technology will be skills every student will develop using the Wii Fitness Board.

Some students never get an opportunity to engage with others.

This technology levels the playing field, allowing all students the chance at a good education. I want every student to love school & exercise. With your donations, we can take our Nintendo Wii console and make X-Period Rock. With your help students will Get Their Game On!
