Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Mathematics! Many of my students are excited for this time.
Although my students contend with many issues, including poverty and learning disabilities, they are eager to learn and embrace all that is presented to them.
Our school is situated in a low socioeconomic community where the literacy and math resources are limited.
My Project
These math readers will receive an enthusiastic welcome as they will add to our limited classroom library. My children will be able to use these targeted math readers during their independent reading time and after math lessons. This will support their reading growth and expose them, through engaging literature, to different math concepts.
These math readers will contribute to their learning and growth in literacy and math.
These texts will provide the access my students to texts presently not offered to them. Your gift will be felt well into their future and have a resounding effect in their lives.
