Help me give my students more access to me freely moving around the room. This will allow me to use an iPad I already have more effectively. I won't be tethered to my project cable location.
I teach AP Calculus and Advanced Algebra 2. I feel a deep duty to all of my students to create the best learning environment for them to make their lives better. Math is a lot of times the block that makes or breaks a kid from getting into college or going further along a path in college. I want to make absolutely sure that math is not that barrier.
Most of my students receive college credit after taking my AP Calculus class.
And most of my students receive a score that will allow them to get into the college of their choice after taking my Algebra class. A lot of teachers exaggerate whether their students are helped by their class. I go by the numbers and the data doesn't lie. Here's how I compare. The teachers who have their own kids at our school put their kids in my class because they know day to day, I will make them better. I will be flexible when life hands them something hard to handle. Usually, my students are on average more prepared than my peer math teachers. After taking my class my students are prepared for their next chapter in math.
My Project
I teach AP Calculus and Advanced Algebra 2. The best thing that I can do while I'm teaching is walk around and look for misunderstanding. Currently I have to stay at my desk because that's where the cable comes out of the wall for my projector. The Apple TV will allow me and another teacher (that I share the room with) become wireless.
We won't have to stay at our podium when we are writing on the screen.
We can walk around. We can hand the iPad to the kids. We can use the camera on the iPad to display good work on the screen. And it's not the most expensive project. So it would really help both of us for not that much money.
