Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a group of 22 lively 7 year olds. A lot of them are new to the country and are getting accustomed to a new home and school life. Our different backgrounds make us a unique classroom.
Our days are filled with stories and adventure.
They love to tell stories about their country and all the fun things they miss. This year I intend to use those wonderful stories to build a good writing foundation. Our main focus will be literacy since a lot of them are still learning how to read and write.
My Project
Every few years I try to revamp my classroom and create a space that’s loving and inviting to my students. I like for my classroom to be a safe haven where my students feel right at home and where kindness is at the center of our day together. This year I decided to spread kindness by bringing the sunshine to our classroom. I will be decorating it with the colors of the rainbow; I want my students to walk into our classroom and feel like they are in the middle of a rainbow as love and kindness rains on them.
