HELLO Professional Development: PD with Hello Literacy
I need help with conference registration and transportation costs for a professional development opportunity for elementary teachers. The PD will focus on reading skills and strategies I can use with my students.
My students are awesome, imaginative and show so much promise! I teach at a Title I school in southeastern NC. It sometimes feels like an empty place but the student fill the school with so much energy and enthusiasm every single day!
My students are creative, intelligent and they love learning.
I hope I inspire them to continue to learn long after school is done! Most live in the closest small southern town or on rural land their families have had forever. They love hunting and fishing, shoes styles, music, working with their families, drawing and coloring, reading and telling a good joke (the good part is debatable)! They are all around great students!
My Project
Professional development creates a learning outlet for educators as well as the students they teach! It is impossible to learn new skills without taking some extra training to keep you informed, motivated and excited about teaching your students.
If we are inspiring learning in our classroom, we should aspire to be life long learners ourselves.
This literacy professional development will allow me to learn new, research-based literacy strategies on how best to help my students with comprehension, fluency, and reading accuracy. Those components all come together to create great readers. I hope the skills I learn at this professional development opportunity will make be a better reading teacher.
