This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a Spanish/English dual language immersion program that promotes bilingualism, bi-literacy and multicultural awareness in education. In my class, I promote leadership habits and a positive growth mindset.

We can learn from our mistakes and help one another grow socially and academically.

In my class, I am not the only teacher, my students have a positive impact on one another and we all learn from each other.

Together we help make our school the best possible place to learn.

My Project

I would love to attend the Hello Literacy conference which promotes fostering a love of literacy in students. This conference is coming to California for one day. Help me have the pleasure of attending this once in a life time opportunity.

Help me obtain progressive literacy practices aligned to 21st century skills.

At this conference I will learn the best practices for Guided Reading, Running Record Analysis, Reading Workshop, Higher Level Thinking, and Vocabulary development to help my students achieve grade level proficiency in reading both in English and Spanish. Help me prepare my students to become successful life long readers.
