Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 4th grade students are now learning online and most of them have had many difficulties navigating the online classes and class work. My students are bilingual and automatically have more challenges especially since they don’t have the resources handy whether it’s a computer or tablets at home. Any donations for my students that live in the Central Islip district with their families that are already struggling financially and have had higher numbers of illness from the Corona virus. Any donation to get more resources for my students will be so appreciated. Thank you!
My Project
The books I have selected for my 4th grade Bilingual students will be encouraging to my diverse student population, which will enhance their background knowledge of culture and traditions that they are familiar with and expose them to interesting topics for them to explore and expand their interests. These students have limited access to books and other class supplies and that has been a challenge for them and their parents, especially during these difficult times where all schools are shutdown due to the pandemic virus.
