My students are an enthusiastic group of second graders. The students in my class have a range of disabilities that include Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Language Impaired, and Emotionally Disturbed. Most of them come from low income households and struggle to have their basic needs met. These children also lack in the typical life experiences that most children may have.
My students face so many challenges; however, they continue to be enthusiastic learners, loving and kind.
Each day they come in with a smile are ready to work. They never give up. Many of them have been recognized for their hard work and kind demeanor.
My students enjoy using iPad and computers for both learning and for reward time for good behavior. They love to listen to stories on iPad and using many educational apps. We use iPad daily for fine motor, reading, math, autism apps, and language. Having a set of working headphones would maximize the use of technology without disrupting the learning of others.
My students are highly motivated by using iPads and computers.
Integrating technology into learning is essential part of their success.
In addition to daily learning, my students will soon need to take online assessments. It will be necessary for each student to have working headphones to take these tests.
