My students need a microwave to have better access to the 4th grade science core. We study how heat energy affects the water cycle. We build models, we study evaporation, condensation, and precipitation.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We fourth graders come to our Title One school from diverse cultures. Many of us are English learners. All of us are rock stars. We do more than equip ourselves with the tools to succeed; we become the tools of success. We fearlessly explore learning because we know that grit triumphs over initial failures. We teach each other through dance and song. We are a community that cares for one another. We open our minds and our hearts to new ideas and points of view because our world is our teacher. Help us become great readers, mathematicians, scientists, and social activists. We are already making earth a better place to be.
My Project
We study how heat energy affects the water cycle, but we have no access to hot water. With a microwave, we can build interactive models to represent evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. With better models, our students will have a more extensive working knowledge of weather, heat, and water. The 4th grade science core is all about how heat energy affects animals, ecosystems, water movement, weather, clouds, etc. Students who understand cycles of nature and the importance of preservation grow up to be conservationists. Thank you in advance for helping us get access to the affects of heat energy on Earth!
