Our students are hard-working, critical thinking problem-solvers. They come to school every day with a strong desire to learn and amazing work ethic. We strive to be among the top performing elementary schools in our area. Through a team collaborative effort, our community, teachers, staff and students have developed a family-like atmosphere in our school.
In STEM class students attend once every five days, they incorporate IT skills to complete group and team challenges, explore new technologies, investigate and develop solutions for real-world problems and create using the classroom makerspace.
STEM class gives students the opportunity to work collaboratively, strengthen problem solving skills and take those practices back to their classrooms.
My Project
Our students have the opportunity to show off their school spirit on a weekly basis by wearing their school colors and apparel. They are also given opportunities to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities and field trips as well as fundraisers that include specific apparel. Whether it be our school name and mascot or a personalized team name and logo, the attire and accessories are something that several students suggested we make ourselves.
Our students are expressing their need and want to create and manufacture personalized apparel for all of our school needs.
A t-shirt press will allow students to take their designs and apply them permanently to shirts, towels, blankets or any apparel items. Students first design on software then use a vinyl cutter to cut the iron-on material. The heat press is the last piece of the manufacturing puzzle.
Our students will calculate the cost of the materials purchased and used per item to determine sales cost. Students will work with classmates on designs and bring those designs to life. Our students are basically becoming entrepreneurs of their own and helping our school at the same time.
