My Students

Have you ever wanted to make a difference, but didn't have the resources? My students want to research and create videos about the homeless in our city to promote a school wide water drive, but they need a laptop with a built in camera. With our summers reaching 115 degrees, our homeless need water!

My students are passionate, hard-working third, fourth and fifth grade GATE students who live in Las Vegas, Nevada and have a desire to help the homeless.

They are very motivated and intelligent, and need to be challenged. Through this project I will be able to challenge their thought processes and allow them to use their creativity to create projects and videos. With these videos, they will be able to promote social awareness for the homeless in our school and a bottled water drive.

My Project

By providing my students will this valuable resource, they will be able to research and create brochures and videos that will help promote a school wide bottled water drive to help the homeless in our community. It will help to squash stereotypes about the homeless, and help to promote social awareness and responsibility. In addition, by providing them with this technology, it will help them to learn valuable technology and researching skills that will help them in the future.

So many kids think only about themselves, and this project will give them a life changing opportunity to help others.

They will learn about the homeless through research, and will be challenged with finding solutions to help. They also will be able to use their creativity through the use of technology to create videos to raise awareness in their own school. This laptop will allow them to impact the 15,000 homeless in Southern Nevada by partnering with a local shelter for a bottle water drive.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
