My Students

I teach energetic and imaginative kindergarten students in a high-poverty, Title I elementary school. These children come to school every day excited and eager to learn and explore. They are hard-working, kind, and respectful.

Nothing is better than seeing the look each student gets when he or she has an "ah-ha" moment while learning.

They start the year as a blank canvas and grow into readers, writers, and independent thinkers. These students show every day why teaching is the greatest job in the world.

My Project

My district recently bought iPads for each student in the district. Providing headphones to keep in the classroom would ensure each child has one for his or her iPad while in class.

Having individual headphones will be very helpful with sanitation, which is especially important now while we are in a pandemic.

With each child having their own headphones, they won't have to worry about remembering to bring one and I will make sure they are sanitized each day after school. We use technology often in the class, so having headphones will help with muting distractions that occur in a kindergarten classroom.
