My Students

I am a loving teacher of 23 incoming and energetic first graders. They love, love, love to learn and I love to teach them! My classroom belief is that ALL students can learn anything with the right adaptations and tools. I teach at a low income school with a high free and reduced lunch rate.

My students are eager learners but sometimes lack the materials needed for daily school practice.

We need materials to learn to read, write, spell, solve math problems, use technology, inquire, explore, play, and so much more. My students love to learn actively and full hands on. We see families that are unable to purchase some of the school supplies students so desperately need.

My Project

By proving my students with headphones, they can hear the books on CD to model good reading. They can also use the headphones with our other reading apps so it can improve the individual attention for each learning. I have a lot of books on CD but I do not have a functioning cd player for students. These small CD players are easy for kids to use. My students would use them at a listening to reading station in my classroom. Listening to fluent reading promotes fluent reading in a child. Students love to listen to books as they follow along in a book that is provided.
