My students need a read-along listening center to help increase their fluency reading levels. They also need headphones for when they are working on laptops.

My students are my babies. I teach kindergarten at a school that is considered a Title I school where 80% of my students receive free lunch. I even have a student that is homeless at this time. Considering their conditions my students are always striving for excellence. They are hard workers and very eager to learn.
Our classroom is a safe place for many of my students.
Many come in tired and sleepy. Some even come in hungry. In spite of all of that, they still give me 100% and then some. They want to learn and our home away from home is a safe and caring place where they can be the best that they can be.
Kindergarten is such an important stage in a child's life. Fluency plays a big role in that development. Many children are in the beginning stages of reading. Yes, I read stories to them but by having a read-along station in class the students will be able to listen to various types of genre and the fluency in the reader's voice when I am unable to read to them. The individual headphone in the read-along station will allow each student to adjust the volume level so that it is comfortable for them unlike the traditional players when the volume is one size fits all. Our team has a laptop cart that is used by each class once a week. Many of the students cannot afford to buy individual headphones. By having the headphone the students will be able to hear their laptop and will not be distracted by the other students around them. This will allow them to focus on the assignment that they are working on.
