Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students now engage in using a variety of technology and apps that require them to have not only access to hearing but speaking capabilities. Students can read and hear text at their independent levels. Students can complete differentiated assignments guided by me or integrated with other interactive tasks and videos. Students need headphones that are durable.

I have purchased over 80 one-dollar earbud headphones so far this year.

Despite being labeled with student names and carefully being hung on Command hooks on the side of desks, they randomly become nonfunctional or the earbuds fall off. Every day a new pair is needing to be replaced. We cannot have learning be inhibited by a pair of headphones.

Also, I am in need of rich literacy articles to challenge the students to think deeper. This is why I am wanting the Scholastic News subscriptions. The Scholastic News articles are in real-time and the students not only get to dive deeper into current issues, they also get to read interesting articles.

New durable headphones will allow students to have a predictable tool that supports them in accessing learning at their levels. Students will continue to keep them stored on hooks on the side of their desks to ensure usage for years beyond.
