This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are truly an inspiration to me. They come in every day excited to learn and grow. I teach at a Title I school in Indiana where the majority of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. My school has a wonderfully diverse population of students who work so hard to achieve their goals.

Many of my students face hardships every day, but when they come to school, they bring so much contagious optimism that it continues to amaze me.

They are truly the reason I love to teach.

My Project

Can you hear me know? While most people don't think about it, many times when schools are given the gift of technology they are unable to get one important componant...headphones. My school was blessed this year with Chromebooks to use and I was recently gifted a listening library from a previous DonorsChoose.org project. Due to the awesome tools we are in need.

My class needs a set of headphones so that they can properly experience both our listening library and all the wonderful educational sites and experiences they can access through the Chromebooks.

With a class set of headphones my students will not have to borrow someone else's headphones or wait for a pair to be available. Right now my class only has three headphones for 25 students. I would love to have my class get to experience all of our technology at one time with the assistance of headphones.
