My students need a wireless listening center to improve their reading skills.

My Students

I see the 6th and 7th graders that are at risk in reading on a daily basis. A listening center would help the students to appreciate listening as well as seeing unknown words in context.

My students are placed in my classes because they have been identified as struggling readers.

We are a Title 1 school which means a large percentage of our students are on free and reduced lunches. My students deserve the best to accomplish their dreams.

My Project

With this listening center, my students will enjoy lower level classics that will encourage them to read the "real thing" as they mature in their reading skills. These books give them a taste of the story line so they can visit on this topic with peers and not be ashamed to let them know they are unable to read on their levels.

The students will use technology to aid in their reading and listening comprehension.

They will work in small groups to grow and extend their vocabulary. Like most students, they appreciate the use of technology in aiding them in their reading skills.
