Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in our school are pretty awesome. Our school is a Title 1 school in northeast Baltimore and has about 700 students. Ninety five percent of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the fact that many of them are performing below grade level in reading and Math, they come eager and ready to learn each day.

The staff works hard to meet the needs of the students, however, we need to replenish materials to give our students the chance to perform well on computer based assessments.

We want our scholars to have the proper equipment to be successful.

My Project

Our students will use these new headphones to practice test taking skills in order to be successful on any computer based test put before them. They will also use them during center time to practice skills in math and reading.

We currently have about 90 sets of headphones to share among our 700 students.

The everyday use of these headphones has caused many to become broken and unusable. We would like to have an extra set to have in reserve make sure our amazing scholars have the appropriate materials in good working condition in order for them to be successful.
