This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is located in Western Pennsylvania near the city of Pittsburgh. I teach third grade in a school district where many of our students struggle financially. Many of them do not have access to computers or other types of technology. I have twenty-four students in my class. Our teachers provide a strong sense of community for our students. We are in need of head phones for our students to use the laptops and organizational materials. These materials will help keep our students focused when using the laptops.
Our students are curious, enthusiastic, and creative!
They are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge. They enjoy spending time using different types of technology.
My Project
My students must keep up with the latest advancements in technology to spark an interest in reading and math. Education is changing every single day, and so my students need to keep up with advancements. Students in my classroom like to use the computers but they are in need of the headphones. It is extremely difficult for them to listen to a story in the reading programs without the use of headphones. They are unable to concentrate on their work, with the noise coming from their classmates computers.
20th Century learning requires our students to be comfortable using technology.
Without the use of headphones our students will not be successful in their studies when using computers. Their attention will not be on their work 100 percent of the time, as they will be trying to block out the noise of the others sitting around them. Thank you for considering to help our students be successful in the classroom.
