My Students

I teach in a rural public school in Southwest Virginia. Many of my students have been greatly affected by the economic downturn. Some of their lives have been literally turned up-side-down through unemployed parents, separation, and divorce. Many of my students are living in poverty. I want to provide these students a safe, loving environment where they can feel free to be themselves.

My students enjoy hands-on inquiry-based learning projects.

They enjoy participating in STREAM activities as well as history, project based learning. As a veteran teacher of 26 years, I still strive to find resources that allow my students to be competitive in the 21st century world. With your help, my job can be made a little easier. Thank you for your generosity.

My Project

By using these headphones, my students will be able to focus more clearly on the material being presented. We frequently use chromebooks and software to practice skills required for standardized tests. I will be able to work more closely with individual students while the other students in the class are still fully engaged in the learning environment.

I appreciate any help that you can provide as I try to incorporate 21st century learning techniques and strategies in my history and science classroom.

These headphones will allow my students to rehearse material that they are required to learn. I am very excited to provide these for the use of my students.
