My students come from all walks of life, from high income to very low income. We are a title 1 charter school that has a brand new building. Our school is a charge school grades K-8th grades. Each grade level has approximately 100 students. Kindergarten is ability grouped. We have 22 kids in our class.
We have amazing parental support at our school.
The money that is used for supplies comes mainly from PTO or fundraising, or out of each teachers own pocket.
My Project
Having headphones, a CD player, a teaching easel and phonemic awareness games will make learning to read so much more fun and engaging. We have a Listening center with a broken CD player and no headphones so this will make listening to stories and phonics games a lot more fun and hands on.
These listening and reading materials will enhance my students learning and they will have fun in the process.
The students will be able to use our listening station daily as well as many years to come. I am excited to see all of the growth that my students will have while using these reading material.
