Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My second grade students are a very diverse group of energetic children. We are a Title 1 school in a Coastal County of South Carolina. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, as well as ability levels.

My students are bright, energetic second graders who are eager to learn new and exciting things.

They love to learn through play with hands-on experiences, which is great for early elementary students. I want to provide my students with creative and meaningful experiences.

My Project

My students need headphones for our laptop computers to be able to focus on their individual lessons in math and reading. We enjoy the reading program Lyrics 2 Learn, it incorporates music, with reading comprehension and fluency. My students love rapping the words they read and singing along. Headphones will allow them to focus on their individual computer. We also use our computers for a math game called Prodigy. While playing a 'game' the students are practicing math standards, they do not even realize that they are learning!

My students need headphones with volume control to support their literacy and math needs!

The volume control is important, some of my students have sound issues, so this will help to keep them calm.
