I have a class of 25 wonderful 5 and 6 year olds. They are all eager to learn and excited to come to school every day.
My students come from a diverse urban community.
We have students from many different backgrounds and cultures including Brazil, Spain, Portugal, and Nepal. Our class also includes several mainstreamed Deaf students. It is a joy to watch all the students work together help each other to learn about the world they live in! I am so excited to see the social and academic growth of this group of children.
My Project
Our school is lucky enough to have a full classroom set of Chromebooks to share between classrooms. Previously there was a set of adult sized headphones that stayed with the Chromebooks, unfortunately headphones are not as sturdy and most have broken over the course of the year.
I have encouraged my students to bring in their own headphones for use in class but not all of my families are able to spare the expense.
By having a full set of my own all of my students will have equal access to the Chromebooks regardless of their socioeconomic situation. Additionally I will have a set of headphones that are sized appropriately for kindergartners so they wont struggle to keep them on!
