My Project

Despite all of the changing scenarios and obstacles that have been thrown their way, our students have continued to show up and push forward with their learning. While they have worked hard to learn, there have been many learning gaps created (or exasperated) in the past few years.

For my freshmen, thinking for themselves, organization, and being self-driven learners are some of the most pressing challenges.

I don't want a student to be delayed in learning something because they had misplaced their pencil, nor do I want a student losing their notes because they didn't glue it into their notebook at the end of class. By making sure all of these supplies are available for students immediately during class, we prevent some of the most common challenges we are facing today. This enables us to get students started with good habits, help them transition to making those decisions and choices on their own, and that frees up time to work on the academic skills!

As we undertake the task of getting students to grade-level in all content areas, we recognize that not all students are entering our classroom with the same skill set. While I would love to say that we (teachers) can split ourselves 30+ ways at once, unfortunately that is not reality. We can, however, utilize the technology available to us so that students can watch short videos of us demonstrating math skills, and then they can practice those skills, allowing the teachers to assist students at their own level in real-time.
