This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come to school every day ready to learn, be challenged, and have fun! They love reading and being read to! My goal is to give them as many reading experiences that I can.
My school is a Title I school with students receiving free breakfast and after school daycare.
My class consists of ELD and SEL students who need extra help to access the curriculum. Although my students require extra help, they come to school every day ready to learn!
My Project
My students need their own headphones for the listening center, so they can listen and follow along while the story is being read to them. Students will be able to hear how books should be read, while following along in the book. Students will be able to make connections with words and their meanings without having to struggle to sound out words. By hearing it, they will be able to read it and learn it!
These materials will help my struggling and advanced readers to be able to see how a story show be read with expression, to make reading fun and interesting.
