My students need computer mice to be able to accurately manipulate the objects and the screen and headphones to block out background noise in the classroom.

My Students

In the 21st century classroom, students are expected to use technology for everything from research to writing to standardized assessments. Like most children, my students love to use laptops and iPads to do their assessments and practice their reading and writing skills. But they lack the motor control and coordination in their hands to be able to click, hold, and drag objects around the screen. They make errors that may not have occurred if they had a computer mouse to use.

My Project

My first graders lack the fine motor skills to effectively use the touch pads to move the objects to the correct locations while making answer choices.

Having access to a computer mouse will allow my students to accurately move their answers to the correct location on the screen.

My students also need headsets. Larger, over-the-ear headphones are the most comfortable for their little ears. Having access to headphones will block out noise distractions within our classroom of a very distractible group of children. With the assistance of mice and headsets my young friends will be successful while using the technology devices in our classroom.
