Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The materials on my list will help students read, and listen to themselves reading and speaking. I teach at a Title I school in a low income neighborhood. The majority of my students are English Language (EL) learners. All of them are on free and reduced lunch and all donations and help are very much appreciated.
We are a 1:1 technology school - this means that each student has a laptop they can access throughout the day.
However, we do not have headphones and with 30 students that can noisy. Headphones help students concentrate on the task at hand. My students listen to stories, as well as read to themselves, and record themselves reading for fluency - hence the need for headphones with microphones.
In addition to headphones, I am asking for incentives for my students. While they love to see their progress grow on our classroom charts, I like to reward them for their dedication.
