My students need disinfecting wipes, toilet bowl cleaners/brush/plunger, wipes and a cordless sweeper, in order to maintain a clean classroom and healthy students while I am away on maternity leave.

My Students
I have 12 students in my classroom with a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns this school year. My students are in a low income/high poverty school in which 84.4% of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. Our school is high poverty and many students cannot afford a whole lot.
Families send their precious children to our class every day for us to help them take those first steps towards accomplishing great feats.
Despite some of the challenges they face in and around their environment, every year my students come to school excited, full of life and eager to learn.
Children make this room their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. It's something we take pride in and hope to continue doing what we love to do and that nurtures their love for learning.
No matter who enters through my classroom doors, they are part of our school family. I hope to provide them with the absolute best education we can offer.
My Project
I cannot leave for maternity leave in March without my students' needs in mind. Healthy students will not miss school as often. I use disinfectant wipes often. Our supplies have exhausted from the beginning of the year. I like doing whatever possible to reduce the spread of germs in the class.
We like to keep the tables clean as we use them twice in the day for small groups and once for snack time.
Teaching the students to keep clean to stay healthy, is very important in my classroom. I remind them to help me keep their work areas clean. Also, if a student is sick, I wipe their area down very well to keep those germs away from the next child sitting in that desk. However, due to previous cleaning supplies donations, we have not had many sick students. Germicide spray helps rid of viruses before they spread. Sanitizing wipes are also used to clean the mats students use for quiet time.
We use baby wipes in the restroom because my students are only 4 and 5 years old. We find that many of them find it easier to wipe themselves with wipes instead of toilet paper. We also need restroom bowl cleaners and cleaning tools as some students have accidents and custodians cannot be in the classroom full time to maintain the restroom.
These supplies will help keep my students healthy so that they can be present everyday to learn!
The sweeper will also help keeping the classroom tidy.
If you will donate money to help me get these cleaning supplies for my class, I will be very grateful! I can leave for maternity leave with peace in mind that my students are well taken care of.
