My Students

We love to learn, and we use every moment during our day to learn. My students are scholar; kids that are curious and full of energy for learning.

99% of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced lunch.

96% of the students are people of color. Despite the odds, we are working hard to ensure that we are college and career ready. We understand that being college and career ready means that we love to read and create, both in and out of school.

My Project

My students love their recess time, bur our equipment is used and scarce. These supplies will help make recess fun again! Recess should be a time full of play and imagination, especially in 5th grade as students start to forget what play and imagination feel like.

Students need to move in order to learn.

Sitting all day does not fully activate the brain. Since we share a playground with many other kids, having alternative equipment allows all kids to get involved and stay healthy.

Games such as bocce ball and catch ball and materials such as sidewalk chalk are small steps toward making our recess time more fun and creative for all students. Thank you for considering this project.
