My students need cleaning products, snacks and deodorants to help ensure that our classroom is a place where all students are healthy and nutritious and the environment is always safe and clean.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing. There are 12 students in my self-contained class with a wide range of disabilities. Although they have disabilities, they try their best to not allow their disabilities hold them back from accomplishing their goals. The disabilities range from learning disabilities to emotional disturbance and even autism.
Although my students have different learning needs than other students, they are no different than any other student.
They laugh, they cry, they struggle, they succeed. They are really a great group of kids that I honestly feel have been dealt a rough hand. All in all they are mine. My students.
My Project
The materials chosen will have a huge impact on the students in my classroom. With the aid of hand soap, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, facial tissue, and snacks my students will be able to maintain a clean classroom and well fueled mind to participate in class. The mass majority of the students in my classroom reside in shelters while the others reside in low income housing.
I need these materials so that my students can understand that despite what they may be going through, the classroom we build is a place where they can feel safe and taken care of.
Your contributions will give me a chance to ensure that students are given a snack when hungry and a clean environment to receive their education.
