This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is located in an urban suburban community in a large city of Georgia. I teach at an open middle school. We except students from all over my county. Although we are in the suburbs, we are still a Title I school.
We have students that don't have all the supplies they need which makes it hard sometimes to work on experiments in the lab.
I want to make learning equitable for everyone by providing some of the tools they need to succeed.
My Project
The students in my class need to have supplies to keep our Room Clean. The Clorox wipes will be a good step in getting it disinfected from the flu virus. Having a happy and healthy room is important to keeping kids in school and learning. Clorox wipes are a small step in achieving this.
These wipes, Lysol spray, and hand sanitizer supplies will help my students and me keep our classroom clean and run the cootie monsters away.
When a classroom is properly cared for, students are exposed to fewer germs which will cut down on the number of sick students. And fewer sick students means that the amount of sick days will decrease and classroom attendance will improve. This means more middle schoolers are in the classroom learning awesome new things.
