My Students

I teach a great group of hard-working, caring second graders. My students come from various backgrounds, from rural poverty to suburban middle class. I teach my students to accept that we are all different and discuss on a daily basis that we all need different things to help us learn and be successful. We truly have established a community together where we encourage each other and cheer each other on. My students love collaborating together and helping each other solve problems.

My Project

Have you ever tried learning or working when you are hungry? It isn't easy to keep your mind focused when you're thinking about when lunchtime is!

Our class has one of the last lunchtimes and we have a difficult time staying focused without a mid-morning snack to hold us over.

The healthy snacks included in this project will supply our class snack basket where students can choose something each day during snack time. This daily snack time helps us to stay focused and motivated until lunchtime. Please consider donating to help keep our minds focused on learning, not hunger!
