Our middle school students are gifted with creativity and resiliency. Although most struggle with following basic instructions and proper school etiquette, they are amazing individuals who need extra help and understanding.
Our students are the highest at-risk students in our city.
The majority of our students live in poverty and some are involved with gangs. We have several students who are homeless and a large number of our students have family members that are incarcerated or struggling with addiction.
Our alternative school is a vital element in helping these children turn their lives around. We focus on building relationships and do everything we can to make sure our students know someone cares!
My Project
We have been learning about GAIN, Growth in Academics through Innovation and Noneducation at my school. My students need to stay hydrated and have healthier options for snacks to keep them fueled!
We are requesting water, Cheez Its, Fruit Snacks and Slim Jims.
Being able to offer these snacks and waters will help my students stay focused and also help them to perform better in the classroom. I believe these snacks can also help students have better behavior in the classroom! If students do not have growling bellies they will be in a better mood. Students will be able to calm down, focus and stay motivated to do their work and be successful!
