I teach Academic Intervention Services to students in grades K-5.
I encourage my students to know that they are readers.
“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” -Margaret Fuller.
Our rural elementary school in upstate New York has a student population of three hundred and fifty students. Students who are at risk of failing the New York State Assessments and students who are having difficulty academically are recommended to receive Academic Intervention Services. That's where my room comes into play.
My students are hardworking and imaginative young learners. They strive every day to improve all areas of their literacy deficiencies. My students are all very eager to learn and love coming to school. They are independent, hardworking and compassionate.
My Project
Many times, students come to school without eating and have a hard time focusing on their learning because they are so distracted by their rumbling bellies.
Students come to school to learn, and these healthy snacks will ensure they will be focused and ready to learn.
Healthy snacks will increase learning abilities in the classroom throughout the day. The snacks can boost their energy level for learning. Healthy snacks enable students to become more engaged in classroom activities. Healthy snacks can help students to grow and develop more skills in the classroom. Healthy snacks can help promote fewer behavior problems.
By providing the students with healthy snacks, I'm investing in higher academic performance in the classroom!
