Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are amazing! We work with grades K-5. We are learning and growing in our reading skills as well as learning to love and appreciate reading.
Our reading intervention groups are key to accelerating our students' learning in areas that they are struggling in.
My Project
Last year we learned that students with trauma require food every 2 hours. When we fulfill their basic needs, learning can happen. Not all of our students have trauma but most of them have been through some type of trauma in their lives. We'd love to continue to fill their bellies so that they can soak up all of the learning that happens in our classrooms.
Almost every student that we work with utilizes the snacks available to them.
We'd love your help in keeping our snack baskets full. At times it is hard to keep the baskets full and the students sure miss those snacks. Gummies and Goldfish seem to be their favorite but others really enjoy the granola bars. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
