This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My third graders came back to school extremely excited to learn and explore with STEM. The students are all eager to learn and I am excited for them! Third grade is a benchmark year and it is extremely important for them to have a good instructional year with essential resources.
My students all live in a low-income poverty school area.
They face many challenges even before they enter the classroom. Some endure things others can only imagine. Despite these challenges, they want to learn and excel. My goal is to make the classroom a safe haven and an exciting learning opportunity for them. The classroom has a variety of learners in the classroom. These include above, on level, below and very below level scholars. Each student has a unique need and it is my responsibility to make sure that they are met.
My Project
My students are doing a great job progressing in class. They enjoy school and enjoy learning. Since it is a benchmark year for them, it is imperative that they do very well. This includes after school and small group instruction. All of the snacks are healthy with limited sugar and will satisfy small hunger pains so that students can focus on work.
The students are always hungry and these snacks would really be beneficial in satisfying these mid morning and mid afternoon hunger pains.
As a teacher, I want to make sure they have the nutrition and thus brain power to be successful in the classroom and with their state testing.
