Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with and serve the entire student body of nearly 700 students. All of them will have access to and be supported by the healthy snacks.
They come to the office throughout the day complaining about feeling hungry, and the donation you make could help us provide for this need and further support all of our incredibly resilient students, their learning, and their future!
Out students work hard to show up every day at their best, even though they face so many challenges in and out of school that many adults couldn't even imagine. Please help us keep them sustained, supported, and cared for!
My Project
Elmhurst United is located in East Oakland, a community where many families are struggling to make end's meet. This means that many of our students' basic needs are not always met. From housing to hygiene to, what this project specifically addresses, hunger. Many of our students arrive to school hungry, and we do not serve lunch until after 1pm. This means that it is very difficult for students to stay focused and learn in their morning classes.
If we were able to offer them healthy snacks during the 10 minute morning break at 10am, we would be setting them up to thrive academically, physically, emotionally, and socially!
You can help us make that happen! A donation like this will carry rippling effects through the whole student body and school climate.
