My students need 5 packs of graham crackers to help them learn without being hungry. About half of my students come to school each day without a snack. I would like to provide those students with a healthy snack.

My Students
Our school is in a low income area with a transient population. For many of the students, school is their only place of safety and stability. They come to school each day with a lot of baggage and they do their best to learn.
As a teacher, I try hard to create a safe and inviting space for my students so that they feel comfortable and ready to learn.
Many of my students do not have exposure to everyday experiences that children in a higher income bracket might have. I strive to provide them with experiences that will help them build background knowledge.
My Project
I would like to provide my students with a healthy snack for my students each day. My school is over 60% free and reduced lunch. Approximately half of my students come to school without a snack, which can make for a long afternoon with a hungry tummy. These small bags of graham crackers will help sustain them through the last part of our day and keep them focused on learning.
Our school social worker has a limited supply of extra snacks but it just isn't enough to support all the students who need it.
