This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a Special Education teacher that teaches mixed grade (9-10) students in an inner city high school. These students are also Special Education students. I teach approximately 55 students per day. My students are unique learners who want to do their best in spite of economical shortfalls due to budge cuts. Sometimes they are faced with economical shortfalls throughout our school districts. In many cases the students economical needs affect their ability to have academic success. However, the most important fact about my students are they need your help. They need to eat healthy meals daily and over the weekend to stay fit and strong . This includes eating a nutritious snack while they are away from school. When students eat healthy it helps to increase their motivational levels and endurance. This allow students to focused on academic skills which leads to success in education and life!
My Project
My students will receive healthy snacks packs to take home over the weekends to assure that they eat a balanced meal daily. The snack packs will help students stay on task rather than focus on a growling stomach ache. Therefore, each student will receive a healthy snack daily and enough for the weekend.
My goal is to have healthy snack and snack bars available for each student to have daily snack and take home snacks over the weekend.
My goal is to remove economical issue that hinder students from learning. Because they are so hungry that they can not focus on learning. Eliminating this obstacle will allow my students to be successful with education and life! As we know education is a key to a productive life!
My students work hard and will appreciate healthy balanced snacks to stay focused daily, this includes the weekends. Thanks in advance for considering our project!
